In this application, a pick-and-place solution was tested for a customer using an igus linear robot, a camera, and a conveyor belt. The individual components had to communicate seamlessly to ensure the metal part could be reliably picked up from the conveyor belt and accurately sorted. The integration of the camera for detecting and positioning the metal part, along with the precise control of the linear robot, played a crucial role in ensuring the system’s high reliability and efficiency.

The Pick-and-Place test, conducted by rbtx for a client, is a detailed process that demonstrates the capabilities of automation systems.In the first step of the test, a plastic disc is picked up using an igus linear portal.

The igus linear portal is a high-precision device specifically designed for such tasks. It uses vacuum technology to securely and reliably pick up the plastic disc.

After the disc has been picked up, it is placed at a specific position. This step requires high precision and accuracy, as the positioning of the disc is crucial for the next step of the test.In the final step of the test, the positioned disc is pressed in using an aluminum profile attached next to the gripper. This step demonstrates the versatility of the system, as it is capable of using additional components like the aluminum profile to perform additional tasks.

This test is evidence of rbtx’s capabilities in developing and implementing customized automation solutions tailored to the specific requirements of each client. It also shows the versatility and efficiency of automation systems in modern manufacturing.

In this video, the igus gantry system in the Customer Testing Area is introduced. The gantry system is equipped with a pneumatic suction gripper used for pick-and-place tasks.The video begins with an overview of the igus gantry system. This state-of-the-art system is capable of precisely moving objects in a three-dimensional space. It is specifically designed for industrial applications and can perform a variety of tasks.In the next section of the video, we see the pneumatic suction gripper in action. This gripper is capable of handling cartons (packaging material) safely and efficiently.

With its help, the gantry system performs a pick-and-place task: it picks up a carton, moves it to another location, and places it there.The video impressively shows how the igus gantry system and the pneumatic suction gripper work together to efficiently and precisely accomplish this task. A specific customer test was carried out in our Custom Testing Area. The aim was to transport stacked buckets individually to another location. This was to be achieved using the pick-and-place method.

For this process, the Igus spatial gantry robot was used in combination with the vacuum gripper from Eberle Greiftechnik. The robot sucks in a bucket and transports it to the unloading point. This process is repeated until all the buckets are stacked again at the new location.

The test was successful. The application enables a flexible and safe transport process. By automating the process, it was possible to achieve efficient and precise handling of the buckets.

The combination of the Igus spatial gantry robot and the vacuum gripper from Eberle Greiftechnik proved to be an effective solution for the pick-and-place process. This system offers a flexible and safe method of transporting stacked buckets. It shows the potential for further applications in similar scenarios.

The vision is to enable batch size 1 on demand in high-wage countries for textile production - away from long transport routes and overproduction. ADOTC is offering flexible low cost automation as a service to increase production capacities for agile production - microfactories for the textile production of lot size 1. The process is based on a low cost robot arm with 5 degrees of freedom with a flexible vacuum gripper system.

The customer test, which was carried out at the igus branch in India, is intended to serve as an automated, cost-effective packaging process for yogurt cups. The cups are placed in the packaging with the help of a line gantry and a suction gripper. The test was successful and the customer can now put the automated application into operation. For a wide variety of tasks, igus offers gantries as area, line and room gantries. igus gantries contain pre-configured drylin linear modules/axes with NEMA stepper motors as well as all the components required for self-assembly. For a wide variety of tasks, igus offers gantries as surface, line and room gantries. igus gantries contain preconfigured drylin linear modules/axes with NEMA stepper motors as well as all components required for the customer's own assembly.
